Already in the 18th century, Slavec's farm was one of the most progressive and the biggest in the village. It was particularly famous for its excellent wines. The tradition of winegrowing and winemaking is now continued by Franc and Alenka Vodopivec with their sons. The vineyards comprise of 10 hectares that stretch over the ridges and the slopes of the hills above the village. In various locations, vineyards are placed on the border between the Vipava and the Karst wine-growing district. The ground is stony and marly, the vines bathe in the sun and the Mediterranean wind gently blows between rows of vines to indulge them. The vineyards are also surrounded by forests, from which wonderful bird song can be heard.
