Bordeaux's most intensely concentrated, richly flavored and unique red wine. An incredible power, depth and richness yet a remarkable balance with penetrating aromas of ripe mulberry, black currant and fruit and spicy vanilla oak, setting it apart from all Bordeaux's finest wines.
Deep ruby red with notes of purple. Ripe aromas reminiscent of pepper, coffee, chocolate, with a hint of jam, leather. Dry, with plenty of tannins, which are still a bit robust, but completely acceptable. Higher acidsPairs well with lamb and venison.
Intense ruby with soft brick-red edge. Rich and complex, reminiscent of dried plums, kirsch-soaked cherries, undergrowth, soot, liquorice, white pepper, leather and herbs.Rich, structured and ripe. The impression on the palate is of ripe dark berries and herbs. Sweet ripe tannins and a sophisticated hint of wood give the wine a nice long aftertaste.
We pick the best refosco grapes in the end of September. Maceration is longer as grapes contain more phenols, anthocyanins, minerals and aromatic substances, which are of a key importance for higher quality wines. We process it in a combination of stainless steel and wooden pot, which we use to emphasize the mature character of the wine and maintain the aroma of dark fruits, which is genuine for Teran.
Zelen’s typical aromas cannot be confused with any other. It’s reminiscent of citrus and apples, with undertones of green herbs, particularly sage. As its aroma indicates, it is elegant and delicate on the palate, while rich and harmonious.Zelen is an indigenous variety that grows only in the Vipava area and nowhere else. Zelen was the first mentioned and described in the renowned book, Vinoreja, in 1844. The author, Matija Vertovec (Vertovez), the first expert in viticulture and winemaking in Slovenia and one of the more educated individuals of his day, characterised the varietal among the “more noble” white varieties. Since its yield, compared with other varieties, is small and demanding to grow, it was on the verge of extinction. Zelen is named after its characteristic bright green leaves and very green grapes.
The wine is crystal clear, golden yellow in color. The bouquet is sumptuous, with apples, peaches and pears, vanilla cream, white flowers, fresh bread crust and butter biscuit. Whoever seeks for minerality will find it. The wine is full in the mouth, fruitiness, biscuit and minerality are repeated. The aftertaste is long, dry, clean, elegant and mineral. Rich, elegant, defined, tasty, silky and quite harmonious very dry wine.
