The wine is ruby red colour and thick. The smell is intensive, fine and rather rich. We can sense the smell of overripe red fruit and berries (Morella cherry, blackberry, black currant, dried plums,dried figs,raisins and jam ). It tastes dry, warm and soft, pretty fresh, tannic and tasty, balanced, intensive, elegant and durable,harmonic, strong and ripe.The wine is ripe and good to drink, but in years it will gain the harmony and drinkability. It will achieve its best after 10 years

Pinot noir is one of the oldest wine varieties on the planet and one of the most elegant red wines in the world. It is famous for its gentle colour, which rapidly transforms to garnet red hues, and for a bouquet reminiscent of ripe strawberries. It first arrived to Slovenia back in 1822. Nevertheless, when we started cultivating it at the beginning of the 1980s, the Vino Kupljen Winery was one of the pioneers of pinot noir.As evident from the brand name, this is one of the varieties we are especially passionate about. We produce Passion but in top vintages, from selected grapes grown on the very best locations. The wine is placed on the market after 18 months maturation in French oak barrels and after 6 months resting in bottles. It has an excellent ageing potential and may be stored for up to two decades.

The wine is a gentle golden yellow color. The bouquet is youthful, pleasant, just right intense. It smells of elderflowers, tropical fruits, lemons, limes, even spicy. In the mouth dry, with a rich texture, salty, moderate acids and a stronger body.Classic harvest towards the end of August, short, a few hours of maceration, pressing and 21 days of temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel containers. After the flow, the wine matured in stainless steel containers with stirring - bâtonnage (three times a week - half a year) for the next 9 months.

Sauvignonasse is one of the oldest as well as most widely planted varieties in the region of Goriška Brda and also Friuli-Venezia Giulia across the border. In the Goriška Brda, it is generally planted on mid- and low-lying sites, giving wines with a rich stricture and plentiful aromas. The intensive minerality is characteristic of wines made in this region. Sauvignonasse was in the past mostly used to make table wine, but today, it is able to develop the full potential of the terroir.The colour is medium deep golden with a nice brilliance. Though young it is already open on the nose as well as compact, unite. White blossom, meadow flowers, wet stone and some ripe yellow fruits are present. A gentle presence of honey shows a bit of development, dried herbs in the back are hinting at the Sauvignonasse grape variety. Very dry and full bodied, with moderate but balanced acidities. Intense fruit character with plenty of character. Long, slightly “salty” finish. Youthful, bit rough now but already tasteful.
