The story of the Frelih winemakers began in 1892, when Jožef Frelih purchased an old, run-down vineyard above Šentrupert and devoted himself to it with the love and viticultural knowledge he brought from his native Vipava. His work was carried on with equal passion by his son Josip, and later by Josip’s son, Peter. Today, the Frelih winery enjoys wide recognition for its outstanding still and sparkling wines, and is successfully run by both Veronikas — mother and daughter. Frelih wines are now 15% off! Cviček is reddish wine, protected and produced only in Slovenia in wine district Dolenjska. It is a special production, because winemakers they don’t mix grapes, they mix wines red and white. This wine is not for ageing.The smell is gentle, but beautifully weird, especially for cviček. In addition to red fruits, which are necessary for every Cviček, we can also find some spices and floral aromas. Wine is dry in the mouth, with high acidity.

The color is medium deep purple. The bouquet is slightly restrained, beautifully variegated, offers dark red fruits, floral notes, a little fragrant after roast and vanilla. The clever use of wooden barrels is perceptible. In the mouth it is beautifully ripe, lively, full of flavor, with a nice texture and ripe tannins. Elegant. Ambitiously outlined Franconian and also executed in style. ermentation on pomace for 2-3 weeks, biological deacidification, then matured in used barrel barrels (225L) for a year and a half.

Varietal wine from optimally ripened and hand-picked grapes of the Pinot Noir variety from integrated production. It is characterized by a fully expressed terroir, which we achieved by using grapes of our own yeast, maturing the wine on lees in used barriques (half a year) and bottling without filtration.The wine is a fairly deep ruby color for Pinot Noir. The bouquet is accentuated, it smells of cherries, sour cherries, even strawberries and smoke. We find some overripeness and a hint of notes on wood and spices. In the mouth, the wine is dry, with a nice, soft, elegant texture. The tannins are beautifully woven and very pleasant to the touch.

Extremely dry sparkling wine of grape varieties (pinela, žametna črnina and pinot noir) from all three Slovenian wine-growing regions. It is a medium deep orange color. The bubbles are medium-sized, frequent, the foaming is pleasing to the eye. The flower is expressed, matured, but we still find plenty of fruit notes, especially very ripe strawberries, in the background there are pleasant yeast notes and notes of dried fruits, especially pears and apples. Very dry in the mouth, the foaming is pleasant, notes of dry pears and dry apples predominate, acids are at a high level. The wine is rich, full, the yeasty notes in the mouth come out beautifully. After the alcoholic fermentation of the clear must, the wine was matured for one year in a stainless steel tank, after which it was re-fermented in bottles, where it was matured on yeast for at least three years.Produced by classical method.
