Ptujska klet
The vineyards of the Ptujska klet winery are located in the south-eastern sunny part of the Alps where the terrain of this wine-growing district is very diverse. Gravel and clay predominate in the soil, and the lower layers are covered with marl. The wines of the Ptujska klet cellar are known under the names of three brands: Pullus, Haložan and Pinky Chick. Since its inception in 2007, Pullus has been defined as a winner in flavour. It is a reliable choice among lovers of excellent wines.

Pullus Sauvignon G is always a selection of only one position. As of 2015, the 2019 vintage is the third in a row to come from the Mahok location. Filling in the G line deserves only vintages that are sufficient for the Pullus G family of wines in terms of their sensory and quality parameters. Colour is bright yellow, which indicates higher ripeness of the grape and ripening in oxidative conditions. Aroma announces an abundance of tropical fruit, nectarine and hay are beautifully expressed, black currant is only a shade, and at the end, the noble notes of oak wood and graphite contribute to the aroma. Taste is pronounced, it fills the whole mouth nicely, and the lively acidity gives the wine a pleasant drinkability. Departure is persistent and wide, supported by a beautifully crafted tannin structure. Wine that already shows a lot at this point and promises even morewhen it will mature in the bottle for a while.

Wine of shiny yellow colour rewards us with aromas reminiscent of the distant lands of the rising sun. Smell of lychee, ginger, candied citrus peel, fruit caramels appears and ends with a more familiar smell of figs and honey. Taste also has an oily effect due to the residual sugar, fruitiness repeats and the relatively high acidity balances the sugar and still makes it pleasant to drink.

This deep yellow coloured wine rewards us with aromas reminiscent of honey, raisins, ginger, cloves, nutmeg and walnuts. Taste is full with extra fullness being supported by the sugar. Wine is definitely made for lovers of sweeter wines, as the acidity has difficulty supporting such a high amount of residual sugar.

Colour is intense red, with a strong purple tinge. On the nose, we are delighted by the smell of dark berries, where we find mainly blackberries and blueberries. Shades of raspberries, plum and roasted appear in the wine, which is the result of several months of maturation in burnt oak barrels. In the last phase, the scents of coffee, chocolate and smoke are also revealed. In the taste, acidity is slightly more recognizable, as in 2019, it was generally more pronounced in all varieties. Wine is completely dry, but despite the high acidity, it is an excellent accompaniment to heavy dishes. Still a fresh Blaufränkisch at the moment but with a nice potential of becoming mature and virtuous.
