Rebula
Ribolla Gialla is well-known as high-yielding. Most frequently, it is a basis for simpler, everyday wines. The nose is matured and youthful at the same time. It offers discrete roasted notes and an aroma of yellow fruit. It has a firm, full mouth feel with a longer aftertaste.

Dolg opis
The colour is golden, medium deep. Nicely scented in the nose, quite intense for a Rebula, far from being discrete, with lovely diversity. It is reminiscent of ripeness, dried apples, lemon, lime as well, with a nice balsamic and honeyed touch. Such diversity can be seen only in very ripe Rebula.
Oak ageing is present. With time and when fully open, a white blossom is joining the bouquet. Fruitiness is not a feature with our Rebula -as well as with other wines in our range. Dry on the palate, medium bodied with high acidities. Intense aroma, tight with oily texture. There is tension even a sense of salinity. Serenely persisting. This one you can try with sushi.

Rebula Journey presents part of the life journey of Zvonimir Simčič, the founder of Medot. This wine found its way among the fresh, light wines he produced in the Brda wine cellar and the older and more complex ones he created at the Medot Homestead.AppearanceA complex, full rebula that combines the properties of fresh, simple fruit rebula with the fullness, richness, minerality, and salinity of macerated rebula.TasteFull, rich, fresh, with a nice acidity that emphasises minerality and salinity. The aftertaste is lasting, fruity and long.

As a variety, it can be a trifle reserved, almost indifferent, unless we bring it to its extreme. We pick it when it is fully ripe, but not overripe. It preserves the freshness that is not always present in Pinot Gris from the Goriška Brda region. When young, it feels somewhat unformed, always full-bodied and firmer. A rare style in our parts: you either grow fond of it or not. It is more reminiscent of the Alsatian style than of anything else. The colour is medium deep, golden with a gentle onion-skin hue. Quite discrete on the nose, delicate, fruity. Red apples, peach, juicy yellow fruits. Also, slightly spicy - nutmeg, vanilla. Clearly revealing that Pinot Gris is an aromatic grape variety. Dry, with buery texture, medium to full bodied with a rather high levels of acidities for a Pinot Gris from Brda. Intense and rich, warm but, not too hot. Nicely balanced. A true specimen of a first-class Brda Pinot Gris.

The deeper golden-yellow colour indicates the high level of ripeness of the grapes. The wine’s bouquet is intense, surprisingly fruity and even overripe. The aroma of dry and fresh peaches and apricots blends with balsamic notes of Mediterranean maquis. It feels dry and robust in the mouth with distinct character of dry apricots. Its longer salty aftertaste and mineral content cleans the palate well. Malvasia definitely shows its varietal character. However, it is more the style of the Edi Simčič winery that is emphasized than are its varietal characteristics. The colour is medium deep golden. Slightly closed on the nose at first but then opens and gets opulent. This is not a Sauvignon Blanc in style of various primary tropical fruits, but rather in a riper, fuller style with restrained, but complex aromatic profile. Gooseberries, peaches, wet stone, buer. Dry on the palate, intense, full bodied with a good amount of ripe acidities. Oily texture with in intense and persistent flavour. A savoury Sauvignon Blanc which requires a well-chosen main dish. Can this one be compared with world classics? Hardly. Maybe it is close to Fumé Blanc from Napa but in fact it is in a style of its own, faithful Sauvignon Blanc from Brda. Edi’s!

This Rebula shows an extractive, golden yellow colour with an amber hue and a dense texture. The bouquet evokes ripe red apple, apricot, yellow fig, yellow plum, orange peel, papaya, carambola and yellow rose. Note of herbs reveals rosemary, anise, finishing with notes of almonds, hazelnuts and toffee. The palate feels soft, and the alcohol nicely underlays its structure. Its freshness is crisp and well balanced by the softness of the wine, we detect mineral salinity, and the mouth is dried by the perceptible tannins, which act slightly spicy. It's thanks to these properties that the mouthfeel is balanced.A Rebula with an intense taste, fuller body and lasting, elegant persistency.A harmonious wine that will only upgrade its elegance through maturation. It can be enjoyed now but will evolve over the coming years. It will go well with pasta and risottos with a touch of the sea or white meat.
