Sauvignonasse is one of the oldest as well as most widely planted varieties in the region of Goriška Brda and also Friuli-Venezia Giulia across the border. In the Goriška Brda, it is generally planted on mid- and low-lying sites, giving wines with a rich stricture and plentiful aromas. The intensive minerality is characteristic of wines made in this region. Sauvignonasse was in the past mostly used to make table wine, but today, it is able to develop the full potential of the terroir.The colour is medium deep golden with a nice brilliance. Though young it is already open on the nose as well as compact, unite. White blossom, meadow flowers, wet stone and some ripe yellow fruits are present. A gentle presence of honey shows a bit of development, dried herbs in the back are hinting at the Sauvignonasse grape variety. Very dry and full bodied, with moderate but balanced acidities. Intense fruit character with plenty of character. Long, slightly “salty” finish. Youthful, bit rough now but already tasteful.

The wine is a slightly accentuated golden yellow color. The bouquet is ripe, medium accent, smells of honey and ripe pears. Elegant wine of lemon yellow color and expressive bouquets. A wealth of aromas - from yellow apples, white flowers, to vanilla and buttery notes. In the mouth, the wine is dry and full-bodied with an elegant texture and a beautiful harmony between acids and alcohol. You can feel the purity of flavors, softness, sophistication and rounded taste, which swells nicely in the mouth. A modern style of chardonnay, in which a gentle touch of wood can be felt, which is expressed in the fullness of taste. Rich and serious chardonnay.18 months on fine lees in 1700 l French oak barrels. After bottling, it matured in bottles for another 5 months.

Chardonnay is the most widespread variety on the globe. It originates from France and was introduced to our regions in the 19th century. Here it was known as Burgunder or Morillon. As the growing conditions are similar to those in its homeland, it also became well-established here.The wine is characterized by an alluring fruity bouquet that has hints of apple, pear, melon, pineapple, banana or citrus fruits; overripe fruit may develop notes of dried fruit and honey. A full-bodied and elegant flavour with finer natural balancing acidity than many new world versions thanks to our cooler climate and longer growing season.
