Orma

Orma is located on the Bolgherese Provincial Road, a Wine Road, just a short distance from the most historic vineyards in the area. It’s in the heart of the Bolgheri DOC appellation, with Ornellaia to the right and Sassicaia to the left.

The Moretti Cuseri family, today in its third generation, made its way to Bolgheri in 2004, captivated by the beauty of the area and determined to embrace the strengths of such a special wine production area. Their enthusiasm for Bordeaux blends began at the historic family estate Tenuta Sette Ponti in Castiglion Fibocchi with Oreno, an icon in the world of wine. The family decided to take this love of Cabernet and Merlot to the Tuscan coast, another fascinating and highly suitable winegrowing area with enormous potential.

Orma is the perfect assemblage of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, grape varieties that have found in these surroundings their perfect habitat. These gently-sloping hills boast deep soils composed largerly of pebble and clay; with very little sand, cool soils that resist the heat of recent seasons, while the nearby Mediterranean tempers the heat coming from inland, cooling the summers and softening the winters. The grapes are hand-picked and vinified according to the dictates of tradition: a fermentation of some 15 days, followed by maceration, with frequent punchdowns and pumpovers, followed by a full year spent in French oak barriques.

Ageing is in seasoned French oak barriques for at least 6 months, after which the wine is bottled. Passi di Orma is a perfect reflection of the lands where it is produced.
