Ruby red colour with aromas that remind you of ripe red fruits, spices, tobacco, oak and chocolate. The palate reveals a complex wine, with the right amount of acidity, soft tannins and perfect harmony.
Medium deep ruby colour with purple shades. The bouquet is moderately emphasized, beautifully ripe and floral. Ripe dark red and black forest fruits, nice touch of wood. Very fine. A dry taste, full-bodied, firm, delicious. It appears very ripe, with a bit of marmalade notes, but remains vibrant with a nice acidity. With soft tannins and a long aftertaste. It has matured for 1 year in larger oak barrels to produce a neat Blaufränkisch with a fruity aftertaste. Bluefränkisch is an indigenous Slovenian variety.
Cabarnet Sauvignon comes from lowland vineyards in the north of Treviso.The grapes are picked in the second half of September. At the winery, fermentation takes place over the skins for 15 days in stainless steel winemakers, followed by a period of ageing in stainless steel tanks for at least six months.
The vineyard where this wine is produced is one of the oldest owned by Louis Jadot since the XIXth century. It is located in the very heart of the appellation (next to the Corton Pougets) which then expanded after 1966. Originally, it was the only place to be allowed to bear the Corton-Charlemagne apellation. This vineyard is ideally South oriented.
A variety which shows what a region is capable of – a litmus test, a reference point. In our vineyards, it nicely reveals the influence of the Mediterranean and the Alps and offers some exotics, enough body as well as classic continental freshness. It offers the nose some buttery, mineral notes and finely integrated spices from maturation in wood. The mouth feel is full, firm, massive and at the same time balanced with a firm structure. It has an ageing potential of up to ten years. Some vintages from the end of 1990s are at their best at the moment.
