A deviation from classic style of fresh Sauvignons, primary aromas are of secondary importance. In our house, we see it as concrete, complex wine; the character of Sauvignon Blanc is less expressed although it is clear and recognizable. It shows its best after a few years, when it gains complexity. Sauvignon Blanc that grows in the Goriška Brda soil is often concentrated, which allows freedom in shaping its structure and body.
Rather than grassy notes, we perceive apricots and white peaches, also some smoky notes, which are a result of oak ageing. On the palate, it offers even more character than on the nose.
The colour is medium deep golden. Slightly closed on the nose at first but then opens and gets opulent. This is not a Sauvignon Blanc in style of various primary tropical fruits, but rather in a riper, fuller style with a restrained, but complex aromatic profile. Gooseberries, peaches, wet stone, buer.
Dry on the palate, intense, full bodied with a good amount of ripe acidities. Oily texture with in intense and persistent flavour. A savoury Sauvignon Blanc which requires a well-chosen main dish. Can this one be compared with world classics? Hardly. Maybe it is close to Fumé Blanc from Napa but in fact it is in a style of its own, faithful Sauvignon Blanc from Brda. Edi’s!

A variety which shows what a region is capable of – a litmus test, a reference point. In our vineyards, it nicely reveals the influence of the Mediterranean and the Alps and offers some exotics, enough body as well as classic continental freshness. It offers the nose some buttery, mineral notes and finely integrated spices from maturation in wood. The mouth feel is full, firm, massive and at the same time balanced with a firm structure. It has an ageing potential of up to ten years. Some vintages from the end of 1990s are at their best at the moment.

The wine is a gentle golden yellow color. The bouquet is moderately pointed, mature. The mouth is dry, medium-bodied, with a nice oily texture, aromas of herbs. fruits, flowers intertwine with each other. In the mouth calm, gentle, soft. Creates a warm harmony with dishes that combine vegetables and cheeses.Very extractive, full, mineral with sophisticated spiciness. The wine has a calming effect, but it lasts and thus confirms its richness and uniqueness. Pinela, which despite its boldness and fullness, retains the perfect elegance of the variety. Undoubtedly, this is the wine of the main courses, special moments that are worth waiting for, because the wine in the glass is growing and growing. Nature proves once again that Pinela can be a masterpiece.

Malvasia Klasika is intensely golden yellow and surprises us with aromas that range from vanilla, acacia, peach, grapefruit towards aromas of field flowers and gently sweet aromas. The body is medium rich with an elegant fruity taste and slight mineral after-taste.Malvasia Klasika takes us on a journey to the Mediterranean and is a great combination with fish dishes or, even better, traditional Istrian pasta “fuži” with white or black truffles.
