It is a varietal recognizable, fruity, elegant fresh wine that can be drunk with various snacks - finger food. It has a softer structure than refošk and accordingly the dishes should be less spicy. Cabernet sauvignon is a pleasant accompaniment to blue fish, the dark parts of poultry, which should be prepared as simply and easily as possible. Combinations with various pastas (noodles, ravioli, cannelloni), natural steak, veal livers with mussels in red buzara, stuffed zucchini or peppers and various other vegetable and meat dishes are also pleasant.
