Dr Bill, Director of Whisky Creation, was born with a taste for adventure. And with this single malt he sought to create a whisky as unpredictable as his travels. Quinta Ruban is a whisky journey into the wild – a dark and delectable forest where the wind whistles with gusts of peppermint and dark swirls of chocolate can happen at any moment. In our giraffe-high stills, it begins soft and fruity, then gets darker and deeper as we let it age for 14 years in bourbon casks and port casks from Portugal. The finished Glenmorangie whisky is a thicket of voluptuous flavour combinations. Walnut and black pepper. Mandarin orange and melted marshmallow. Dark chocolate bar and peppermint. And, like stepping into a chocolate-minty-orange unknown, the journey is as delicious as the destination.

Named World Whisky of the Year in 2008.Non chill-filtered with a strength of 46% ABV.The aroma surprises with peat infused with zesty lemon and lime, wrapped in waxy dark chocolate. Bold menthol and black pepper slice through the sweet smoke followed by tarry ropes and graphite. Savour the aroma of smoked fish and crispy bacon alongside green bell peppers, baked pineapple and pear juice.The finish goes on and on. Long and smoky with tarry espresso, aniseed, toasted almonds and traces of soft barley and fresh pear.

With a deep ruby red color intensely colored wine, clean and clear translucency.Right on the first nose it is flawless and perfect. Herbal herbal scents predominate over fruity ones, mostly pepper, green peppers and coffee. In the background, the varietal fruity note of dark berries plays nicely with the mineral trace of the terrain.

The wine is of a gentle golden yellow color, slightly cloudy and unfiltered. The bouquet is accentuated, clear, fruity and beautifully varietal defined. In addition to the expected stone fruits, we also find honey, apples, cloves and cinnamon.Widely inviting. In the mouth, the wine is dry, medium-bodied, with nice acids that are slightly higher than in Istria. The real beauty of this Malvasia happens in the mouth, where it is very tasty, varied, we also find a slight touch of wood. With a nice texture, it spreads nicely across the mouth. Excellent, brought to the limit and with a very long aftertaste.The best between 2019 and 2025.
