Albiana
The estate on which their vineyards grow was bought by Albin and Ana Žaren in 1936. At first it was a mixed farm, but now it has been predominantly a wine estate for more than 20 years. Since the beginning, they have been monitoring the conditions and the potentials of their vineyards. Based on these findings, they have reached a new milestone: a selection of wines from the highest-quality grapes from the best vineyards, which they named ALBIANA after Albin and Ana Žaren as a tribute to the pioneers of their story. The brand was created and internationally protected in 2018. The first wines under ALBIANA brand were labels of blue franconian of 2016, while the rest of the white and rosé wines were of the 2017 vintage.
The oldest part of their cellar lies under their house and is more than 300 years old according to official written sources. Today, the cellar is bigger, modernly equipped and in three stories – with a processing room, a maturing cellar with stainless steel vats and wood barrels, a bottling room and storage chambers where wines are matured separately at different temperatures according to their type – sparkling, red, white or rose. They believe that wine is made in the vineyard, so the process of vinification is kept as minimalistic as possible, without unnecessary interference with the wine. This way, they get the best reflection of their varieties and terroir.

Medium deep golden yellow color. The flower is ripe, calm. It is reminiscent of butter, dried flowers, fruitiness is in the background, a pleasant tension can be felt. Dry in the mouth, medium-bodied with a pleasant oily texture, a lot of acids, expected according to the origin, give the wine the liveliness and balance it needs. It is a very nicely grown, calm, drinkable culinary chardonnay.

Very tiny bubbles with many spark chains confirm that this is a classic method of production. The first fragrant impression brings connoisseur finesse, a standout mineral and a characteristic note of brioche. Moderate acidity is in line with fashion guidelines. This is a real "brut" because the ratio of acidity to sweetness is ideally balanced so that the properties of very dry sparkling wine are preserved.Sugar level: brut - very dry.Produced by traditional method.

Gentle pink color and numerous tiny bubbles herald an energetic sparkling wine. The bouquet is delicate, restrained, fruity and precise. The secret is in the indigenous variety Žametna Črnina, which gives excellent opportunities for the production of sparkling wines with elaborate finesse. We find fresh ripe reddish fruits such as strawberries and raspberries. Yeast notes are very discreet. Sparkling wine is high in acid and a lighter body with a longer setting, which makes it extremely drinkable and calls for more. We feel the playfulness of the many tiny bubbles that accompany the gentle yet clear character of the variety.
