Monterosso
The story of Monte Rosso began in 2006 when two friends embarked on a new venture imbued with a passion for wine, history and nature. The property is located on a demanding place, on a mixture of red and white soil rich in limestone, with a unique microclimate, in the village of Crveni Vrh near Savudrija, after which the brand is named. On the 65 hectares of the estate they grow vines, olive groves and cherry, fig and almond trees.

Monterosso Brut Nature Rosé sparkling wine from Montepulciano grapes. The wine is colored luminous pink with elegant tiny bubbles. Monteclassico rosé is the most refined wine of the Monterosso estate. It has a rich fruity aroma, harmoniously complemented by the buttery scent of freshly baked croissants. The wine, made according to the classic method, is extremely dry, which together with its harmonious middle body and pleasant minerality gives it unprecedented elegance. Monteclassico rosé can be an excellent aperitif, as well as an excellent accompaniment to various dishes.

Monteclassico sparkling wine is made from malvazija istarska vintage 2015, according to the traditional maturing method on yeast in bottles. Expedition liqueur was not added to the wine, thus it carries the Zero Dosage label. It is of light yellow colour, clean on the nose, with fruit aromas where citruses prevail. It is fresh and playful in the mouth, with pleasant acid and expected malvazija minerality, all of which together with the gentle bubbles gives the wine harmony and exceptional drinkability, ending with a medium-length finish.It is recommended as an accompaniment to seafood and traditional Istrian delicacies, as an aperitif, or on its own.

»Drznimo si biti drugačni,« je eno naših gesel. Biti drugačen je dokaj enostavno, biti drugačen in pokazati visoko kakovost pa je nekaj povsem drugega. Vinski profesionalci in poznavalci bodo le za kratek čas tolerirali prvo brez drugega. Cesare je drzen izdelek. Že Nerone ni bil od muh – vsaj mi smo mnenja, da nam je uspelo, toda Cesare (Cezar), tako namiguje že ime, ima ambicijo stopiti še stopnico više. Cesare letnika 2020 je srednje globoke rubinaste barve z granatnim odtenkom. Navkljub štirim letom zorenja cvetica deluje mladostno. Je kompleksna, ponudi mediteranske začimbe, temno rdeče in črno sadje, češnjo, višnjo, robido. Zgolj nežne note po dimu in prepečencu namignejo, da je vino zorelo v lesu. Vino je suho, deluje polnejše, četudi zmore »zgolj« 13 % alkoholno stopnjo. Zinfandel ga »odebeli«, rebo ga postavlja pokonci. Taninov ni malo in so dobro blikovani. Je pokončno, čvrsto, z žametno teksturo, a obenem lebdeče. Najbolj prepričljiv je ravno v srednji fazi (midpalate), kjer izkaže karakter, persistenco in je polnega okusa z obilo koncentracije in finese. Enigmatično, samosvoje vino, ki ga težko umestimo. Prav zlahka nas zapelje v misli, da ne izhaja Mediterana. Težko ga bomo ujeli zgolj z enim zamahom.
