The vineyard is located rather high on the hill of Pernand-Vergelesses, not far from the Hautes Côtes de Beaune Appellation.

The soil is mainly composed of brown-yellow marls and clay dating back to the young Jurassic period (about 150 million years). The surface is very rich in oxide, mainly iron explaining the brown colour.

Beaune is the capital of the wine-producing region of Burgundy as well as the most extensive communal AOC appellation in the Côte d’Or. The production of red wines covers an area of 368.74 ha including 281.49 ha of Premiers Crus. Most of the vineyards are located on pronounced slopes. Soil: limestone mixed with clays.Exposure of the vineyard: from East to South.A dark garnet color.An intense nose marked by a grilled reduction and smoky notes. Aromas of “gariguette” and wild strawberry. The palate is rich, fleshy, and very fruity.A wine with a great ageing potential. Use a decanter if you want to drink it young.

Softer garnet colors. The flower reminds of smoke, coffee, proja, ripe strawberries. Classic varietal, to be exact. Dry in the mouth, the tannic hold is quite brave, and the tannins are supple, smooth. The character in the mouth is a little behind the flower, but it offers a clear pinot character. On the warmer side, medium bodied. A really good Pinot Noir that will get even better with time.
