Winemaker of the month BENEDETIČ
The knowledge of winegrowing and winemaking has been handed down from generation to generation at the Benedetič’s ever since 1923, when Valentin Keber and his son-in-law Andrej Benedetič purchased 2 hectares of vineyards – bearing the name Brgalotišče – from the bankrupt count Teuffenbach. The careful management of the succeeding generations and the expansion of the winery result in an overall 12 hectares of the finest vineyards today. They respect the tradition and the effort of their ancestors while following state-of-the-art trends in wine-growing and cultivation in general. Their grapes and wines are produced in accordance with the environmentally-sound practices, and grapes are harvested exclusively by hand.
