Haloze hills gives it warmth and body, Central Slovenske gorice its extraordinary fruitiness and strict acidity. Wine is of delicate lemon colour with greenish tinge. This year, due to slightly colder temperatures during the grape ripening, the aroma turned more towards the
“greenish” aroma profile. In the foreground are gooseberries, asparagus, boxwood, the smell of hay and grass. After a while, grapefruit and tropical fruits join. Taste is juicy, lively acidity is mature and pleasantly refreshing. Wine also expresses its fruitiness in taste, which is extremely persistent and goes into a nice long after taste. Aromaticity and lightness are the main attributes of this “wild” wine representative, as its name already suggests.

Nose
The bouquet is youthfully accentuated, dominated by primary aromas, elderberry, tropical fruits, passion fruit, even hay and green peppers are found.
Taste
It is also nicely ventilated in the mouth. Medium length, classic pullus.
Food pairing
Wine goes well with zander in the oven with asparagus and new potatoes, and wild garlic pesto mixed in full-fat cottage cheese.

Colour is intense red, with a strong purple tinge. On the nose, we are delighted by the smell of dark berries, where we find mainly blackberries and blueberries. Shades of raspberries, plum and roasted appear in the wine, which is the result of several months of maturation in burnt oak barrels. In the last phase, the scents of coffee, chocolate and smoke are also revealed. In the taste, acidity is slightly more recognizable, as in 2019, it was generally more pronounced in all varieties. Wine is completely dry, but despite the high acidity, it is an excellent accompaniment to heavy dishes. Still a fresh Blaufränkisch at the moment but with a nice potential of becoming mature and virtuous.
