The exceptional location of Rimc, the precision biodynamic farming, the triple thinning of the grapes and the weather conditions of the 2020 vintage have led to the consistency of the taste of Angel Barbera 2020. The harvest of Barbera took place on 22 September. The grapes were hand-picked and hand-selected into 15 kg crates. After 15 days of maceration, the wine was matured in 225 litre oak barrels, 50% were new and 50% used. Angel Barbera 2020, in the search for perfection of taste, contains not only Barbera of Rimc 93% but also a pinch of Merlot of Šmihel 7%. After 26 months of maturation, Angel Barbera 2020 is bottled without filtration and without purification.
In vintages when the wines do not meet the house standards, the latter are not bottled. We have invested a great many man-hours in the 2021 and 2022 vineyard in the search for perfection, and we have done our best. However, due to the weather conditions, the latter variety did not meet the expected standards and the 2021 and 2022 vintages will not be available on the market.

The wine is made from an excellent vintage, from selected positions and grapes.As a result of a week long maceration, full ripeness of grapes and five years of aging in big oak barrels, it is of a deep amber and orange colour. On the nose is very complesive - ripe, rich and varied, reminiscent of dried apricots, dried flowers and spices. Great balance of tannin and acidity and long, full and very mineral taste. A rich wine, that excels its drinkable and potencial for further aging.

Among the wine varieties recommended for cultivation in the Vipava region, Cabernet Sauvignon is the one that calls for the most sunshine and the highest average temperatures in order to achieve full phenolic ripeness of the grapes. At the Batič farm, Cabernet Sauvignon is grown on seven sites. However, Batič Angel Cabernet Sauvignon only comes from two vineyards: Vogrsko Mali Dunaj and, most frequently, Loke Koladovca. Loke is a village situated in the warmest part of the Vipava wine-growing region. The grapes from this vineyard were hand-picked on 9 October in the afternoon. Maceration followed until fermentation was complete. Biological crushing took place in 225 litre barrels. This was followed by a 25-month maturation period in a selection of 50% new and 50% used 225L oak barrels. Angel CS 2020 was bottled at the end of December 2022 without filtration.

Hand harvested grapes from the best sections of the vineyards are processed and aged in oak barrels and the clay amphorae recessed into the cellar floor. Contact with the skin is long and the wine has time to enrich itself with all the goodness of the grape and to develop a blossom which indicates full maturity. These are wines for formal occasions, special dishes, and sophisticated company.
