Since 1989 the Burgum Novum label represents the premium wines of Castelfeder. These wines are the maximum expression of intense work and care from the vineyard to the cellar, grown in the most prestigious vineyards in South Tyrol.
After a careful aging process in small oak barrels for 18 months, all Riserva wines age for another 12 months in the bottle before being released.

Buchholz is the name of a steep single site at an altitude of 440 to 500 meters above the small town of Salorno in the southernmost part of South Tyrol. Due to an optimum sun exposure, the grapes on the 25 to 60-year-old vines can ripen slowly and bring out this delicate Pinot Nero.

Glen is the most historically significant vineyard site of the winery. Its founder Alfons Giovanett has invested in this special location already since 1969. The afternoon sun, the special conglomerate soil of loam, limestone, and porphyry, as well as the micro-vinification at these altitudes of 450-790 m provide ideal conditions for this harmonious Pinot Nero.

This Rebula shows an extractive, golden yellow colour with an amber hue and a dense texture. The bouquet evokes ripe red apple, apricot, yellow fig, yellow plum, orange peel, papaya, carambola and yellow rose. Note of herbs reveals rosemary, anise, finishing with notes of almonds, hazelnuts and toffee. The palate feels soft, and the alcohol nicely underlays its structure. Its freshness is crisp and well balanced by the softness of the wine, we detect mineral salinity, and the mouth is dried by the perceptible tannins, which act slightly spicy. It's thanks to these properties that the mouthfeel is balanced.A Rebula with an intense taste, fuller body and lasting, elegant persistency.A harmonious wine that will only upgrade its elegance through maturation. It can be enjoyed now but will evolve over the coming years. It will go well with pasta and risottos with a touch of the sea or white meat.

The wine is a deeper amber color. The bouquet is intense, smelling of pine resin, dried apricots, earth and grated apples. Dry wine, salty, lower acid and oily texture. Stronger, intense taste and even longer aftertaste. The taste in the mouth is very varied and persistent. Extreme Malvasia, grown on "orange", and very well.Extremely rich, complex, sophisticated and elegant wine, with excellent aging potential of at least 10 years.
