Medot Extra-Brut Cuvée is a great example of the realised potential of rebula in sparkling wines, which after minimal of five years of sitting on yeast, with all the characteristics of the best champagnes, with its freshness, invites our next sip.
Harmonious, balanced and full taste. The elegant acidity blends nicely with the taste of ripe fruit, honey, almonds and citrus fruits in fine bubbles. Everything is nicely rounded off with a long aftertaste of biscuit and bread crust. The departure is long, mineral and lasting.
On the nose initially ripe, elegant, with a delicate aroma of honey, brioche and bread crust. Then floral (acacia, blackthorn) and citrus notes (lemon zest, bergamot) predominate, which blend nicely with the mineral notes of marl.

Its blend reflects the diversity and complementarity of the three main grape varieties in Champagne whose proportions vary from year to year, but always find the same harmony: the body of Pinot Noir (30 to 40%), the suppleness of Meunier (30 to 40%), and the finesse of Chardonnay (20 to 30%).Slightly golden straw yellow with delicate green glints.Green apple, citrus, etc. The striking intensity of these fruity notes is immediately followed by a wave of mineral freshness and white flowers. Then, the blonde nuances of brioche, cereals and fresh nuts hint at elegant maturity.Generous and tasty, white fruit notes including pear, white peach and apple, unfurl on the palate, in the company of fine, light bubbles. Then, little by little, the sweet liveliness of the citrus nuances comes into focus, and lingers delicately in the mouth.

On the nose the wine expresses pleasant fruity character. On the palate you can find elegant combination of intense flavour and lovely gentle acid. The wine has beautiful ruby colour.Pinot Noir is one of the oldest varieties, having been described by the Roman writer, Pliny. It originates from Burgundy, where it is the most widespread red variety. It is also the basis for many prestigious Champagnes. It is a very demanding variety both to grow and to make well. It requires light, airy, well-drained soil in the best sites and the most meticulous approach from the winegrower.In view of this, we decided to include the Pinot Noir as the only red variety in out palette of wines. We first planted it in 2009 in Ivanjkovci and then in Jeruzalem in 2012.Verus’ first Pinot Noir is from 2011. Despite the young age of the vineyard, due to the low crop weight per vine and a good autumn, we were able to produce a beautiful ruby red wine with a bouquet reminiscent of raspberries, strawberries, cherries and redcurrant, followed by a full-bodied and mature flavour showing nuances of all these fruits.
