The final 2019 Cardinale Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon was blended from eight appellations, eleven vineyards and 32 individual lots. The primary aromas are full of fruit, blackcurrant, blackberry and blueberry. The wine is also characterized by a floral and spicy line, rose petal, cedar, roasted coffee bean and baked bread. The combination of different vineyard sites makes the wine balanced, complex and structured with firm tannins and an endless finish.
A slightly richer purple colour than the classic cuvée. The nose is a little bit more discreet, just a question of backwardness, because there is clearly more weight. A massive burst of deep raspberry fruit, less sucrosity and far more power at the finish. The tannins are enveloped by the fruit and the stems only show in the white pepper. Very persistent.
