Since 1989 the Burgum Novum label represents the premium wines of Castelfeder. These wines are the maximum expression of intense work and care from the vineyard to the cellar, grown in the most prestigious vineyards in South Tyrol. After a careful aging process in small oak barrels for 18 months, all Riserva wines age for another 12 months in the bottle before being released.
Glen is the most historically significant vineyard site of the winery. Its founder Alfons Giovanett has invested in this special location already since 1969. The afternoon sun, the special conglomerate soil of loam, limestone, and porphyry, as well as the micro-vinification at these altitudes of 450-790 m provide ideal conditions for this harmonious Pinot Nero.
The minerals and tone of the Brda soil are detected in the wine with a rich taste. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir make up a third of the wine. The wine was refined for two years in 500 L oak barrels. Tannins appropriately expressed with a strongly rounded body.
It shows a great range of well-defined aromas of ripe red fruit, with hints of dried violets, red pepper, thyme and graphite. On the palate, it is vigorous, extraordinarily expressive and rounded, with great fruitiness and long finish.Goes well with baked red snapper with grilled vegetables, white wine, apple, lime and rosemary; Cameros truffle with mushrooms, and cabbage with extra virgin olive oil; Milk-fed lamb chops with buttermilk, asparagus and red wine; Suckling pig confit with its crunchy skin and caramelized apple.This is a red wine with a balanced aging of 2 years in new and partly new barrels made of American oak and a year and a half in a bottle. The result is an elegant wine that combines complexity and finesse, summarizing the best features of Spanish identity and topicality.

Deep amber colours. The bouquet is emphasized, warm fruity notes reminiscent of seasoned apple compote, pears and dried apricots. The fruity character is enhanced by just the rightly matured tannins. Dry, strong wine of pleasant acids, where vanilla is dominant in the mouth, with a woody as well as a fruity presence. A beautifully evolved orange wine.
